The Kite Runner post 5

The Kite Runner is a pretty sad book, people getting shot, people trying to commit suicide but the end was kinda of nice. He flew his kite with his friend at a park. I think there was a pretty good message in the book thought. Like life is full of disappoints and surprises, but hope and optimism for a better future can get you through it. I think at the end of the story when they were flying kites and the other kite string was snapped it represented and symbolized letting go of the past.

I like how the author uses other another Language for some words to make it seem more real. Chapter 17 made me feel sad because he found his friend was shot even after he had proof and the neighbors supported him. It made me upset when i found out that they killed him because they wanted the house for themselves. I also felt sympathy for Amir because he felt like it was his fault his friend died and he was living a lie because he just found out he had a brother.

Baba sounds like a really strong Character emotionaly and physicly, i picture him big and muscular because he was able to life Karim by the neck and joke him. That was a pretty intense short little scene. But also there was still a couple of alliteration in the story and i think its the authors trade mark. Its hard to write a book to begin with but to put allot of alliterations must be harder.

In Chapter 4 the narrator says never mind allot to prove his point, its very repetitive. Usually they just say so but i think he did that to give the narrator personality. What i don't understand is if they did all of those stuff together, why wouldn't you consider each other friends? Also i found that there was alliterations that helped get to know the character by seeing he's somewhat a playful kid.

I like how the story starts with like a for shadowing event kind of thing about the 1975 winter. He mentioned it more than once that tells me that something important probably happened and probably what this whole book is about. Also he is in San Francisco my home town where i was born and raised to i like it already. What i don't like is that he off the bat gave allot of names and that are kind of fun to say but i have a feeling I'm going to get them mixed up. I also didn't like how the Hassan character reacted to the soldier who was talking about his mother. I would have done something i wouldn't care if he was a soldier.

I really like the imagery the book gives you allot of show not tell like when O'Brien was telling Winston about the rats he gave great details and it really made you feel what the author was trying to make you feel and its not just one feeling its a mixture of suspense, scared, and horror at the same time. It help you understand the story more because you can feel what the character is feeling. Even though he was being tortured, i didn't like the fact that he was screaming to do it to Julia and not him and all the other stuff he said. Yea i understand hes being tortured but hes a guy and shes a girl, that's just kind of messed up.

The beginning of chapter 8 the i liked how they set the tone by giving you an image of the room and how he was feeling nervous and excited at the same time because he thinks hes free. I like Winston even more when he said he liked to join the secret organization that works against the party. I can conclude that if i was comparing this story to a quest Winston is the night in shining armor.

In the second book, he meets this girl and he ends up hooking up with her but they just met. That is the one of the riskiest thing he could do because for all he knows she could be spy and it is illegal to but it reveals the hypocrisy of the party members. It really annoys me that they think they can do anything they want and tell others they can't do the same thing as them. And i think that pretty gross how he just made love to a girl that got around. They obviously didn't take a health class.

The second chapter is really good because it gives us a issue already. I find it odd that little kids came to the park to see prisoners gt hanged. This place sounds so horrible, the children whine and roar if they don't get to watch the hanging. they even have police to monitor thoughts, this sounds a little too up tight for my comfort and to feel like nothing is yours except a few centimeters inside your skull is just too much for me. Its makes me feel kind of annoyed of the Big Brother Party. And they are evil queen in this quest

The slogan of the party is a really a bold statement and its not just mentions once in the books. This is very surprising to me because as a ruling party i would expect something much different. I disagree with that slogan but its not my book or story so it doesn't really matter. But even today some people have the same theory as the slogan but i don't think to this extent. From what it sounds like the party has allot of power and has allot of control over the civilian lives. It just sounds like a nightmare. I mean they aren't even allowed to have free thoughts? and if you do its a "Thought crime" i just can't imagine living in a society like this one

Different cultures clash all the time even in the United States, especially when Foreigners come from a different culture and have to quickly adapt the the customs of the U.S. So in the book when it talks about a man killing his wife because of his beliefs its not a new thing. Even on the News today there are stories like that and there are also many fights because different cultures have different beliefs and sometimes they are total opposite and it starts a disagreement and possibly a fight. I can relate to this because my parents customs are different to the customs i learn and pick up and school and sometimes they start they can agree and adapt and other times they argue about it with me

What is the What blog 4

Throughout the book of What is the what, Valentino tells us the his past experiences trying to escape and avoid the violence and i think it symbolizes whats happening around the world today. I think people out there in like the Middle East, Burma and other countries that are not in peace can relate to his stories. The author even gives you specific details of what kind of guns the soldiers are carrying instead of just saying guns and it just shows that he really has a strong feeling about this topic and it can transfer to the reader and i like that about the book. You can kinda like feel the emotions the authors going through so its not just a book or story.

It is really sad to hear what some kids have to go through just to have the freedom i take for granted. I mean the way he describes the scene where he was waiting to cross the Nile and how 3 boys died in there desperate swim. And how the rest waited only to be eaten alive by hundreds of mosquitoes on each person. I can't stand having one mosquito near me, but for them to have to have hundreds on each person and about a thousand people there, that's just unthinkable to me. Those 3 paragraphs really gave me the chills and got me thinking.

Who is this boy that is watching his t.v and why is he there for so long. I really feel bad for the guy now, he's been hit knocked out and tied up, now when he wakes he sees some little 10 year old watching his t.v. This has to be one of he worst stories i heard about a foreigner trying to make a living in America. I know that its hard at first for them all but this has to be the hardest challenge i heard so far. It just makes me thankful that i live in a safe neighborhood and thankful of what my parents went through for me.

I feel bad for this guy, he seems like he has a good heart by trying to help that lady at his door but i think he was pretty dumb to let her in. If it was a cell phone i would have got it for her and bought it to the door. I would have never let her in the house in the first place. I also find it hard to believe that this man is being help gun point and all hes doing is trying to figure out these people and observing them. Its like, how can you think in a time like this, hes seems calm and not really scared and just making observations like its nothing.

I have been told before about foreshadowing and in this book it also talks about if you want something important to be known then introduce it earlier and than reveal it later. Its good to know that i wasn't taught something for no reason but its also in this book. Also in chapter 24, sickness is used to again add plot and also symbolize and the different kinds are used to show a different image. I liked that chapter allot because now i can be a stronger story writer because i could show and not just tell by adding a illness. Also by doing so i can make a quest for my charcter and relate it to other works of literature

I have always thought of geography as just the setting of the scene, nothing really important, but then the book showed me otherwise. It said proved to me that the geography is just as important as the main characters. The example that really worked on me was the one with Napoleon trying to take over Russia. If the it wasn't for the geography, maybe he would have conquered it. I also learned that in most literature works, the geography is also used as a plot. It reminded me of the quests part of the book, and how geography in somehow linked to making a quest.

Chapter11 ...More Than It's Gonna Hurt You: Concerning Violence

I think that chapter of the book was really out there because it made you think about the different kinds of violence and told us that there is 2 types in Literature. But even though there is 2 types of violence, they only exist to make or destroy plot complications or put the character under stress to give the book some flavor of action in it. I thought this chapter stuck out to me because i think violence is everywhere in everyday life and the author really made you rethink the meaning of it. It just makes you more aware of why violence occurs in literature so it doesn't seem like just a waste of time to read.

In the book "How to Read Literature Like a Professor" i like how he can compare other books, movies and stories to what he is talking about to try to help explain and prove his point. I think its a really good thing to do because its like hes really talking to us and its like hes really next to you like a teacher giving you a lesson. I haven't any books like that and i think its a really fun way to read and learn.

I really liked the quest part of the book because i didn't that everything in life and in book is really a quest. I like that the author could relate the Holy Grail to everyday life and everyday situations. I would not have ever thought of comparing different books and different stories and saying they are the the same by both being quest. Now when i read a book i can really look into and have a deeper meaning to then what the other is just telling me. I can now see outside the box and its more creative to me. I also like the part where if you eat with someone its communion. It was interesting to read how it can have more than one meaning to then just eating out with a friend. I really agreed to the part when it said when you are breaking bread with someone its is an act of peace because if your breaking bread then your not breaking heads. I just thought that was pretty funny and it gave me a deeper meaning to communion
